About Maggie

An academic, educator, and coach, I earned the Master of Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and a doctorate in Psychometrics from the University of Massachusetts, and obtained a wide range of leading, teaching, research, and professional practice experience in the United States and Hong Kong China for over 15 years.

My research has centered on the intersection of data science, learning sciences, and wellbeing science, which is characterized simply by two words “humanizing data“. My 90+ scholarly work has appeared in refereed journals like Lancet Psychiatry, Journal of Positive Psychology, and Assessment as well as conference presentations, invited talks, and research reports.

I’m passionate about helping others thrive, particularly young people. I had the honor of being elected the President of International Positive Psychology Association Education Division (2021-2023) and a Program Advisory Council member of 2023 Global Flourishing Conference. I actively serve on various advisory boards, professional committees, and professional consultations in student learning, wellbeing, curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, and quality assurance, and received the recognition from UNESCO’s Network on Education Quality Monitoring in the Asia-Pacific.

Academically, I’m fascinated by learning and spreading the science of wellbeing. Non-academically, I am passionate about discovering the art of wellbeing through such as the lens of arts, wellness, fashion, travel, curation, and flower design.
